IEEE 1588 Protocol Software V 1.03
New features and extended hardware support
The precise time synchronization of devices in distributed applications, like measurement, telecommunication and automation systems as well as in the automotive sector, is increasingly becoming an important requirement. The Precision Time Protocol (PTP) according to IEEE 1588 meets this requirement by enabling a highly accurate synchronization of distributed devices over Ethernet down to the nanosecond range.

New features simplify operation and interaction with other tools
SAE J1939 Designer from IXXAT for cross-product configuration and design
The new ECI driver (Embedded Communication Interface) for IXXAT’s CAN interfaces can now be downloaded from the IXXAT webpage free of charge. The ECI driver enables the easy programming of applications under Linux, RTX and INtime, and provides a uniform API for all supported real-time operating systems and interfaces.
Thanks to the availability of real-time extensions and low-cost components, Ethernet is increasingly used in automation and metrology. For many automation applications, exact time synchronization of controls, sensors and actuators within a network or even between several networks is vital. One possibility for this is offered by the “Precision Clock synchronization Protocol for Networked Mea-surement and Control Systems” or „Precision Time Protocol” (PTP) for short, which is defined by the IEEE standard 1588. However, the protocol only provides the basis: maximum precision for synchronization requires support from suitable hardware. The following text describes how IEEE 1588 PTP works and what hardware-based solutions are suitable for it…
With its new sales office in Switzerland, IXXAT reacts to the increasing demand for CAN and Industrial Ethernet products, especially from Switzerland. Together with Mr. Johannes Haag, a long-standing and experienced IXXAT distributor, the new sales office was opened on March 1st, 2011. From now on, IXXAT is able to respond even better and faster to the demands and requirements of its Swiss customers.
Cost-effective and flexible low-profile PCIexpress card for CAN, LIN and other bus systems
With its new version of the CAN-CR220 repeater IXXAT expanded once again the isolation voltage of the device, which can now be used in areas with higher protection demands.
Especially for the development of devices and systems for the maritime sector, IXXAT now offers an extension for its proven J1939 protocol software according to the NMEA 2000 standard. The extension enables the quick and cost-effective development of NMEA 2000 Level A&B Class 1 devices.
With its new FR-IB100/PCIe IXXAT offers an extremely cost effective and high-performance interface card for FlexRay analysis and control applications as well as for the analysis of the FlexRay start-up behavior (asynchronous analysis mode).
