CANopen Device Manager version 3.1 now available

IXXAT is pleased to announce the availability of version 3.1 of its versatile CANopen Device Manager.
CANopen Device Manager is a universal, plug-in based CANopen tool targeted to support engineers during the device development and testing process. Due to its unique extensibility by custom plug-ins or Python script files it is also the ideal basis for the implementation of highly specialized end-of-line test applications or service tools.

Besides general improvements, this new release of the CANopen Device Manager integrates support for the new XML based CANopen device description file format specified in CiA311 and features introduced with latest version of the CANopen Application layer and communication profile according to CiA301 V4.2.
XML based device description is considered as a significant improvement compared with the EDS predecessor which has been in use since the initial introduction of CANopen. XML allows to set-up a clearer file syntax and description of specific device functionality which was not possible with the original EDS format.

CANopen Device Manager 3.1 also supports the enhanced PDO synchronization mechanism described in CiA301 V4.2.

CANopen Device Manager is available for Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP.
