NicheView is an extremely slim and resource-saving WWW-browser for embedded systems.
This product provides an interface for all user inputs such as keyboard inputs, mouse-clicks etc. and for outputs such as text or image displays etc. With a code size of only 35 kByte, NicheView implements HTML 3.2, multiple fonts, plug-ins and JavaScript in one device. It supports frames, animated GIFs, Color and JPEG as well as tables and forms.
The functions of NicheView are comparable with conventional Web-
browsers such as Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer. However, unlike these PC-browsers, NicheView is much less dependent on specific hardware or special I/O-devices. The browser-interface only handles input-events and output-streams, regardless of their source or destination. It is thus possible to begin with the development before all input and output devices are specified.
