CANopen Product Overview
IXXAT's CANopen software and tools are used worldwide by many companies for applications in the machine control, lift, maritime automation, commercial vehicles, military or medicine area. To support our customers during the different development phases and within their specific application fields, IXXAT offers the following products and services:
Interface Boards, Diagnosis Tools and Topology Components
Our interface boards, diagnosis tools and topology components can be used for CAN, CANopen, DeviceNet and SAE J1939 systems. An overview about these products can be found under the menu entry "CAN".
Protocol Software
The CANopen Protocol Software contains all necessary functions to set-up a slave device or a simple master device according to the CANopen specification CiA 301. Support of LSS services according to CiA 305 is included.
The CANopen Manager Software is a very powerful software package, allowing the implementation of complex CANopen Manager devices. The software package is especially suited for the integration into control units it is based on the specifications CiA 301, CiA 302 and CiA 405.
The CANopen RT Software is a real-time version of the CANopen Protocol Software, equipped with additional interfaces for an optimal integration into real-time and standard operating systems. The CANopenRT software is suitable for the extension of devices and applications, by a CANopen communication interface.
The CANopen Maritime Software implements the CANopen framework for maritime electronics, CiA 307, and is specially designed for the high security demands of maritime automation applications. The software provides fault tolerance by redundant communication and it supports the flying master mechanism.
The CANopen Master API is a software solution which provides all necessary functions for the comfortable development of simple CANopen Master applications, like control, service or test applications, running under Windows. The CANopen Master API is especially designed for static network topologies without the need for a flexible configuration.
The CANopen Manager API is a highly flexible and powerful software solution, which can be used, in combination with the iPC-I XC16/PCI CAN interface, to implement CANopen control applications. The package was especially designed for the integration with IEC 61131-3 run-time environments based on Microsoft Windows. The CANopen Manager API is based on the CANopen Software and therefore supports the standardized boot-up procedure of CANopen. The functionality is implemented according to the CANopen specifications CiA 301, CiA 302 and CiA 405.
Tools
The CANopen EDS Editor enables the comfortable handling of EDS files. Its simple user interface provides all necessary functions for the device manufacturer and system integrator to set-up new or to edit existing EDS files.
The CANopen Device Manager is a small, but highly flexible tool, which can be to access CANopen devices. Fields of application include the device development, test, service and diagnosis as well as the device configuration. The CANopen Device Manager supports SDO, PDO and LSS master services, download of configuration data and firmware update according to CiA 302. A special feature of the CANopen Device Manager is the extension possibility by very flexible optional plug-in modules, like the powerful scripting processor.
The CANopen ConfigurationStudio is a powerful tool for the projection and configuration of CANopen devices and systems. Special features of the tool are the modular structure, allowing an easy extension, as well as the clearly arranged display of the process data connection and the network topology.
Services
Code Introduction
Detailed training on the source code of the CANopen protocol stack for one or two days. Interfaces, processes and data flows within the CANopen software are explained in detail. The training also gives the possibility to answer questions with regards to the customer implementation as well as to directly make adaptations of the code.
Technical Consultation and Development Services
Support for the specification of the CANopen device or system to be implemented. The customer can benefit from the comprehensive CANopen know-how of IXXAT, which leads to reduced development times. Furthermore, IXXAT can perform the adaptation, the implementation and the test of the CANopen software in combination with the customer hardware and application.
Support at the Conformance Test
CANopen protocol conformance tests with the official CiA software can be accomplished at IXXAT. At this, errors can be detected and fixed before performing the conclusive conformance test at the CiA.
IXXAT offers a two day CANopen seminar, which can be held at IXXAT in Weingarten or as in-house seminar at the customer site on request.
