EtherNet/IP
EtherNet/IP Product Overview
EtherNet/IP is one of the three official network standards (DeviceNet, ControlNet and EtherNet/IP), using the "Common Industrial Protocol" (CIP) application layer. This common application layer as well as the open software and hardware interfaces enable the direct connection of automation components from the field level to the control and factory level.
Protocol Software
EtherNet/IP Scanner Software
Using the EtherNet/IP Scanner Software, developers of PC based embedded products are able to implement the EtherNet/IP Scanner Class functionality into their devices fast and easy.
Designs using the EtherNet/IP Scanner Software are EtherNet/IP capable control units as well as devices with a need to provide a client functionality within an EtherNet/IP network.
The Scanner software provides I/O server and I/O client, message server and message client functionality and provides an API (Application Programming Interface) for the application.
The software is delivered in source code - EtherNet/IP Scanner Developers Kit (ESDK) or as DLL for Windows 2000/XP - EtherNet/IP Scanner Communication Driver (EIPS).
EtherNet/IP Adapter Software
The EtherNet/IP Adapter software enables the developer of PC based or embedded products to implement the EtherNet/IP Adapter Class functionality into his device fast and easy.
Applications for the EtherNet/IP Adapter Software are EtherNet/IP capable devices, like I/O modules, encoders, valves and simple drives as well as other components typical for the industrial automation.
The Adapter software provides I/O server and message server functions and can be attached to the application by using an API (Application Programming Interface).
The software is delivered in source code - EtherNet/IP Adapter Developers Kit (EADK) or as DLL for Microsoft Windows 2000/XP - EtherNet/IP Adapter Communication Driver.
