SAE J1939 Product Overview
For SAE J1939 IXXAT offers protocol software, a Windows driver API as well as tools for analyzing and testing
of SAE J1939 devices and systems.
Interface Boards, Diagnosis Tools and Topology Components
An overview on our interfaces, diagnosis tools and topology components for CAN, CANopen, DeviceNet and SAE J1939 can be found under the menu entry "CAN".
SAE J1939 Protocol Software and Windows API
The SAE J1939 protocol software enables the fast and easy development of SAE J1939 devices. The mechanisms defined
in the SAE J1939 specification are supported by the software (except for the bridge functionality), allowing the
developer to concentrate on the implementation of his application.
The J1939 API is a programming interface that enables fast development of J1939 applications on a PC under Windows.
The programming interface is based on the IXXAT VCI driver and is therefore available for all CAN interface cards from IXXAT.
Tools
The J1939 module is an addition for the canAnalyser and canAnalyser-lite enabling the display of received messages
according to the SAE J1939 notation. This includes the interpretation of received messages and the extraction of "Parameter
Group Number", "Source Address" and transmitted "Suspect Parameters" with name, value and unit.
With the designer SAE J1939 projects can easily be created and maintained. The J1939 project includes the definition of user-specific
parameters and messages, the description of the network nodes and application-specific configuration data. The data generated can
either be used in conjunction with the SAE J1939 protocol software, the Windows API or the canAnalyser J1939 module. Errors caused by
inconsistent configuration data can be avoided by this.
Services
SAE J1939 Code Introduction
One or two day introduction to the SAE J1939 protocol software source code. The interfaces, processes and the data flows within the SAE J1939 software are explained in detail. During the introduction, questions with regards to the customer application can be answered and adaptations of the stack regarding the customer application can be made.
Technical Consultation and Development Services
Support for the specification of the SAE J1939 device or system to be implemented. Customers can benefit from the comprehensive IXXAT know-how in developing SAE J1939 devices, resulting in a shorter development time. In addition, IXXAT can adapt, implement or test the SAE J1939 stack in combination with the customer hardware or application.
