IXXAT SG-gateway with M-Bus Master interface

The IXXAT SG-gateway is designed to specifically target Demand Response (networking of industrial electric loads) and Virtual Power Plants (networking of energy resources like biogas plants or combined heat and power units) applications and all applications requiring to bridge between energy and industrial automation communication systems.

Remote terminal unit for smart grid applications
The SG-gateway is a remote terminal unit for the energy market with an M-Bus Master interface for reading up to 64 remote energy meters. In addition, it includes 2 digital S0 inputs and 2 digital outputs.

The SG-gateway supports the communication protocols used in the energy sector, e.g. IEC60870-5-104 and IEC61850. The gateway can support other connected electric equipment in the field, via an Ethernet interface and/or a serial port, using the protocols Modbus TCP and RTU.  As an option, the SG-gateway can also include a 3G modem for remote connectvity.

EASY WEB-PLC programming
The application logic can be programmed on the device either using the integrated graphical web editor or by using a predefined configuration loaded to the device. The graphical web editor is a very intuitive and easy to use interface to program software applications and configure the gateway. No engineering tools are required and it can easily be accomplished by service technicians.
