Drivers and Software

For customers who purchased the HMS CANbus software option with the Dell Edge Gateway product, the HMS firmware and SocketCAN (Ubuntu) / VCI (Windows) driver will be pre-installed.

Ubuntu Core

Ubuntu Core snaps for the Dell Edge Gateway 3000 Series are supported through the Dell Brand Store.

To install any of the snaps: snap install <name-of-the-snap> - - edge - - devmode

For example,

To install the “flashloader” snap: snap install flashloader - -edge - - devmode
To install the “j1939” snap: snap install j1939 - -edge -- devmode
To install the “canopen” snap: snap install canopen - - edge - - devmode

IXXAT J1939 API V2.2.0 for Ubuntu Core 16

The archive "j1939_api_2.2.0.tar.gz" includes the same components as the Ubuntu Snap (available from the Dell web page) (libraries, documentation, sniffer tool, source code examples) but simpler to unpack and use on your development PC.

SocketCAN

The SocketCAN driver is part of the DELL Linux distribution.

WINDOWS

Download latest Windows 10 driver and software releases for the Dell Edge Gateway 3000 Series from the Dell Drivers & Downloads page here. Choose Operating System: Windows 10, 64-bit and Category: Modem/Communications to find the VCI driver, firmware flashloader, J1939 API and CANopen API packages.
