The Ixxat CM CANopen is a compact interface module designed for the integration of CANopen or CAN 2.0A devices with SIMATIC S7-1200 automation systems. It offers a cost-efficient solution to achieve PROFINET connectivity for CANopen-based field devices, offering full integration into the Siemens TIA Portal and configuration tool support.
As a CANopen commander/responder (master/slave) module, it connects any CANopen or CAN 2.0A field device to a SIMATIC S7-1200 PLC, acting as a bridge between the devices.
Supports up to three CM CANopen modules per PLC and up to 16 CANopen responder (slave) devices in commander (master) mode, enabling scalable system expansion without significant cost increase.
User-friendly configuration thanks to integration into the hardware catalogue of the TIA Portal configuration environment.
Supports transparent CAN 2.0A for custom protocol implementation. Ready-made PLC function blocks are available in the TIA portal for fast integration.
Can be easily configured as either a commander (master) or responder (slave) module, providing flexibility with no additional programming required.
